Overview of the Proposed PTSA Budget 2022-2023

You can view the full document here.

The PTSA budget is organized into 4 main categories:

  • Fundraising: These are activities that are specifically intended to raise money for Lincoln. This includes things like Laps for Lincoln, BASH Event, and Partners In Education (PIE).

  • Events & Programs: These are activities and events sponsored by the PTSA for the enrichment of the Lincoln community. They are mostly expenses in the budget, but some do generate revenue or are net zero (i.e. the Pantry Program)

  • Contributions & Grants: These funds are direct donations or scholarships supported by the PTSA. This includes our biggest single expense: the Para Fund. This year's budget grants $75,000, which covers the salaries for 2 paraprofessionals at Lincoln for the whole year.

  • Overhead: These items are expenses needed to operate the PTSA. This includes website and technology costs, insurance, and other miscellaneous expenses.

Inclusive community and our relationships be strengthened

We want to be productive and stay groovy:

  • Adequate funding for baseline staffing at smaller schools

  • Continues beefing up gt & innovative learning

  • Increased family involvement

  • Activities to support community building (before & after school)

  • Transparency and docs shared before meetings

  • Assemblies & field trips

  • Activities that mutually benefit parents, teachers & students

  • Supporting the school

  • paras, shifting to find new funding for PD; success: more connected, wider circle of friends with families and teachers.

  • across the state, very few schools CMAS scores went up. this is beyond impressive. great work Emily and team!

  • Concern about recess is also about children being able to choose how to play and have healthy competition without constant adult intervention. Will they be able to play soccer for example? Response - Hey Orla/Paul. I can take a stab at offering more info about recess. This year, Lincoln has contracted with Playworks, a national non-profit that has, over the past 25 years, honed recess design through evidence-based practices. There are a lot of nuanced changes that they will be rolling out throughout the year. They will be presenting as part of our next Parent Ed Night when we focus on Social Emotional Learning - Our recess lead will be at Lincoln full time for a week each month and there are many programs they run, including a student leadership program, which eventually turns recess design over to student leaders. I am personally looking forward to learning more and encourage everyone to come with questions and concerns to our next Parent Ed Night

  • 19 students x $7,800 is a big deal too! amazing work

  • Why did the yearbook cost exceed the budget so much last year? Should we budget more for this year?

  • Less the rebate, we had to meet a minimum of sales. We decided to purchase a remainder to meet the minimum so all kids can get a yearbook. So net small expense after rebate.

  • Does the GT funding amount differ from last year’s allocation amount?

  • I have not paid my $10 membership yet. I will, but can I still vote?

  • The Garretts hope to facilitate the Lincoln Scavenger Hunt again this year. We cover the costs of it (prizes, etc) but if monies are raised I believe it went towards pantry program. Is that still the goal?

  • I know this is a bit of a sensitive subject, and that there was a lockdown drill, but what measures is the school taking for emergency situations and does funding need to take place to better prepare our teachers/staff?

  • C Community, 9:05 PM: I pledge to work on SHADE design

  • Marlon Marshall, 9:06 PM: I pledge to get as many parents involved as possible into all that we are doing

  • Laura Carson, 9:06 PM: I could be the MC for laps again and volunteer for recess

  • Tera Orey, 9:06 PM: wish connect with more new families

  • Nicole Vaccaro, 9:06 PM: I will work on Scavenger Hunt destinations & More Gratitude!

  • Anne Marie Wall, 9:06 PM: I wish that I will know double the families that I do now.

  • Anna Jennett,9:06 PM, Hit up more businesses for Lincoln contributions!

  • Ryan Garrett, 9:07 PM; host another awesome DLD with the neighborhood's best group of dads
